Needed to leave my review on this as I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. I recently got my JCM2000 DSL and loved it from the get go. Couldn’t believe how good the clean tone was. But…… the bias was out of control. Once I found out about this the amp was switched off and left so that it wouldn’t get damaged any further.
From there I started researching the issue and came across the Dr. Tube Stable Bias mod.
Dr. Tube was really helpful with ordering and then once I received the kit I reached out for some clarity on the differences between mine (the 50 watt) and the 100 watt DSLs. They responded within hours and I was on my way.
Installed the mod, fired her up and lo and behold I have a stable bias and can set it just how I like it for the amazing tone this amp can produce. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone with a DSL/TSL even if you need to get a tech to install it (tube amps are not to be messed with with no experience), and I highly recommend Dr. Tube themselves for their great customer service. Also, the hollow drill bit is a must have for this fix!
